You have been lied to
You've been lied to.... I am sorry to drop the bomb here. But it's true.
You have been told that you need to be able to draw like da Vinci, paint like Picasso, and write like Shakespeare to be able to call yourself an artist or a creative human being.
Many people claim, "Oh no, I am not creative", "I can't draw," and it always gets to me.
The TRUTH is that creativity is not about being able to draw. What is the definition of being able to draw anyway? Do you know? Who told you? The people who can't draw? The people who are not creative themselves?
Creativity is not about painting, writing or any other medium.
Every person on this planet is born creative. It’s s given thing.
It’s in your DNA. Everybody is 100% creative.
The problem is that when we have gone through school and we have had enough remarks, messages ( social and TV and every other media) thrown at us we think we are not creative... because we are not like that... pointing fingers at famous artists and art.
So we stop.
We stop believing we are creative. We don’t play anymore, we follow. We don’t make fun anymore, instead we focus on should, does and rules. We look for outside permission instead of giving ourselves freedom to create and make what we see in our dreams. True creativity starts in our heart or soul and if we let it we can create anything from that energy.
I paint, write, make and am my most authentic self. But it wasn't always like that. I have gone through hardship myself, which is when I stopped believing in myself and my ability to create. But I didn't want to be there. I wasn't that person. I wanted to be myself again. Strong, courageous, on fire!
You are your most authentic self, too. There is only one you, and we need you to express yourself. YOU need to express yourself!!!
Stepping freely into your creativity is not about learning techniques nor is it about skills or knowledge….. unlocking your creativity and expressing yourself without holding back is about releasing fear and being fully immersed into who you really are. No rules, no regulations. No should, does or waiting for or permission.
It’s stepping into the dark and finding the rays of sunlight.
And it’s all there already, inside of you. Let’s unpack and start living like you are supposed to!
